With over 90 members from more than 20 countries, including industrial companies, research institutes, and industry associations, it aims to promote the positive impact of robots on productivity, competitiveness, and quality of life.

The IFR supports research, development, and international cooperation, informs the public and policymakers, and promotes the robotics industry worldwide. The IFR also organizes the regular International Symposium on Robotics, which brings together research, technology, and industry experts and maintains close relationships with national and international robotics organizations.
